10 Date Ideas

Dates. Some get the warm fuzzy feeling when they hear the word, others a painful shiver down the spine. I'm to warm fuzzy kinda date gal. Being in a steady long distance relationship for almost two years makes the word 'date' sound very exciting!
The conventional date ideas can only be done a certain amount of times. And then they all start morphing together, all the dinner dates and movies. It's also a very expensive way to spend time with your loved one, and if your in the movies, you can't talk anyway!

Here are some cute (and much cheaper) date ideas!

1.Dessert Date

This is the greatest! Especially if you live somewhere where they have restraunts purely for Desserts! Go grab a HUGE Ice Cream Sundae to share (or not...if sharing aint yo thang!) Chocolate Brownie, Cake, ANYTHING! Go crazy! They're so much fun, and honestly - much more exciting than dinner dates!

2.Breakfast Date
I loved my first breakfast date! It didn't quiet go as planned as the Diner we had in mind was closed for maintenance. But we ended up in a really pretty café by a lake which was fine by me! Just means we have to go back to the American Diner when its open again! Much cuter than a dinner date - and you have the whole day to plan over breakfast!
You can even have breakfast dates at home, take it in turns cooking breakfast for your lovely, goes down a treat!

I haven't had a picnic for years! They're so underrated and I love them! So this summer, a picnic date is in order. The opportunities are endless, you could go the park, the woods, the beach - anywhere! And you can pack it full of yummies!

4.Beach Trip
You can't beat the beach! Warm summers day, swim suits, ice cream! What more could you want? Its a fun way to spend time in the sun with ya loved one! Just remember your sun cream!

5.Dinner Night In
'M&S dinner for 2' is a life saver when it comes to date nights in! There is usually a steak involved and a bottle of wine! Plus a starter and a pud! ('Dessert' - for all you Americans!) You can even show off your cooking skills! Stick some candles on the table and ta-da! You're ready to rock 'n' roll!

6.T.V & Junk Food
One of my favourites! My boyfriend and I get a Tesco's Chicken Box (classy right!) Smiley potato faces, and we sit in front of the T.V - usually on the floor and watch Lord of The Rings or Sons Of Anarchy or whatever takes our fancy - and simply, just stuff our faces with chicken! So much fun, and super cheap! Just don't get ketchup on the carpet...!

7.Camping In The Garden
Another simple, but really fun date idea, is to set camp in your garden! Or, even inside the house! (Ya never too old for pillow forts ladies & gents!) Roast marshmallows, lay out under the stars. Enjoy the simple things in life!

 8.Hobby Days
Hobby days are a fantastic way to bond, and can be sooo versatile! For instance, I'm a horsey gal, LOVE horses, and I'm lucky enough to have one of my own. My partner on the other hand, has never had anything to do with horses. But, he has been coming over, I'm teaching him to ride, he loves my little pony just as much as I do, and it gives us another thing to enjoy and have in common! Alternatively, he's into Karting, so this summer - guess who's guna have a race round a kart track? ME! Get each other involved in your hobbies, you never know you may find its something you love!

9.Snack Dates
These are a fun thing to incorporate during a shopping day or just for a little something here and there! We stopped off for Krispy Kremes - thoroughly enjoyable!

10. Chores Date
'In every job that must be done
There is an element of fun
You find the fun and snap!

The job's a game'
Take a leaf out of Mary Poppins book... If you have something that needs doing, a wall that needs painting, a garden that needs weeding, a loft that needs cleaning - then why not do it together? The job will get done much quicker, you'll be able to spend time together, all whilst being productive! Shove on some music - like they do in the movies, and you'll have a whale of a time!

Some slightly different date ideas to try out! Think outside the box, the main thing is that you enjoy spending time together, it's not all about spending money and doing things all the time. Take time out to enjoy the simplicity of life!

  2. Super cute ideas!! I love that they keep things fresh and exciting, not the usual dinner and a movie (which doesn't really count as you said, you can't talk during movies!). Definitely something I will keep in mind for my future boyfriend. Haha look at that! I know our dates before I know who he is! hahaha!
Great post as per usual, Katie!
